Alizée and America

What can we do to help the 'suits' over at Sony green light Alizée coming to America? I was reading through one of the chat logs that Alizée did with fans a while back and saw this exchange:

Quote:

Maribel : Are you planning to come to U.S.A? we really love you and we hope you can come here because we really do love you a lot!!!!!!!!!

Alizée : I hope so, je ne vous oublie pas...
I thought is was kind of neat because (1) the question was asked in English, and she actually responded to it (all of the other questions were in French obviously). And (2) she said she will not forget about us.

I think it is really up to the USA/Canadian fans to make this happen. We need to get on things like digg, stumbleupon, twitter, all that crap and get to promoting.

Anyone here have a lot of friends on digg or a lot of followers on twitter? Lets hear some ideas.

tbailey 07-13-2008 09:48 PM

i think little things like writing on her myspace wall makes a big difference

it shows Alizee her manager and RCA guys that she definitely has fans here

i would also encourage everybody to go the fan map on her official site and post your location

again to show them clearly how many fans she has here

http://alizee-officiel.com/

instructions for secret page located here:

http://moi-alizee.us/forums/showpost...&postcount=141

and if anybody has connections to top record label people - well that helps a lot too :D

My Cheap Attempt

Anything helps like Tbailey had said, and i'm willing to do anything (hopefully I won't have to resort to illegal methods :p).

brad 07-13-2008 09:57 PM

good idea,

i was also thinking we need to get some viral marketing going...

For example, Nurvonic: Dress Neoteny up in a Alizée America T-shirt and plead with the camera for Lili to come to the USA, then zoom the camera out to reveal Neoteny is attached to some massive sling shot and launch him about 200 feet into the air over your house.

We need all kind of crazy stuff like that to post on youtube, really start some kind of movement. lol ... maybe that is extreme but we need to get some stuff like that going. stuff we can post to digg and youtube to get people aware. Not just the usual tribute video that we have seen 10000 times. That isn't going to attract people, but some real crazy stuff that has the potential to go viral.

think outside the box!

Agreed, viral, wrong, odd, stupid, painstaking, commercial-like, videos.

If Nurv is going to make a vid with Neoteny like that, i'd prefer a little switching of this video, let's pretend this guy is listening to Alizée music and is American. :p

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RmXNbc0fwtw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RmXNbc0fwtw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Amigo! 07-13-2008 10:03 PM

Press 1 for Alizée xD

How about we go here... http://www.sonybmg.com/

And bombard the RCA RECORDS number with endless calls :p

you said outside the box... right? :D

Haha .. brilliant, now we are getting somewhere. I might edit that up a little bit. Keep the ideas flowing and we will just flood the social news / networking sites with this kind of stuff.

Actually this is a good time to mention, if you do not have a digg account MAKE ONE NOW, I might make a another thread explaining this better for those that weren't around for out last digg effort.

yes something comedic would be a great idea

i don't even know what digg is

oh and the phone number for RCA Records

212-833-6200 :p

TheBarrett 07-13-2008 10:16 PM

We can get those Alizée America Soccer Jerseys that I designed to be conceived. Then preferably film a video of us playing a match against the Paris Hilton FC, and beating them 80-1, with Fifty Sixty playing in the background.

Then some sort of Alizée advertising thing or whatever, i'm just going crazy here.

brad 07-13-2008 10:41 PM

here is a quick image i made .. lol

Now, let's copy and paste those kitties in every place that lets us! :D

lefty12357 07-13-2008 10:58 PM

On Alizée’s Google Fan Map the USA and Canada combined total just one less than her fans in France.

I think one key element is to get the mainstream media to take notice of her and do a story on her. She needs some mainstream exposure. Let the media know they are missing out on a great story about a singer who has become a phenomenon in the USA through the internet. They like these types of stories. Make them aware of how many plays she has on Youtube. Make them aware of her US fan websites. Make them aware of Americans flying to Paris and Mexico for autograph signings and concerts. The media just loves to jump on the bandwagon. We just need to point the bandwagon out to them. They’ve become rather lazy these days.

Hopefully, we have members or acquaintances of members that work in these fields and can help us do this. I, for one, don’t know how to accomplish it because this is far from my area of expertise. But I feel if she got some mainstream exposure, then maybe some TV shows would try to book her on their show or do an interview with her. Her charm will take over from there. I'm thinking anything from Letterman to Leno, Regis to Oprah!

I believe the Mexicans said they got her music played in the clubs and it then leaked into the mainstream media. Once most of the USA has seen her, I think she would pick up enough interest here to warrant a concert or a visit of some sort. To be honest, I think RCA is waiting to see if the USA fans will step up to the plate and make this happen. I don’t think her sales have generated enough revenue that they can afford to risk in order to mount a full promotion here. It’s up to us.

As Brad said, anything crazy we can do might just get us some notice by the media. Hopefully, someone here will have some other ideas on how to attract the media to tell this story. I think from a journalistic and human interest point of view, the story of Alizée and her American fans is a good one.

Talk's over guys, time for action. Operation Lilly Town New York is underway, even if it has to be a one-man crusade! :D

TheBarrett 07-13-2008 11:49 PM

Well that settles it. After Alizée's concert in Paris, i'm going to go to California and do some Crusades on the Western Front!

awesome, great idea... are those stickers, or how did you get them stuck on the surface? i need to find a place that makes large stickers (like minimum 12" x 12") and just buy 1000 or so and pass them around to members to stick everywhere

Tical 808 07-13-2008 11:53 PM

The movement is starting

I'm cheap. Scotch tape. You can see it in the pictures. :p

The Spring Street and Subway Car ones didn't last long, but last I checked Houston Street has been up for several days.

Of course I'm trying to post more as time permits, in more recognizable locations.

brad 07-13-2008 11:57 PM

we need something that will really stick, a big vinyl sticker would be perfect. those are a bitch to get off .. lol

anyone know where to get large scale stickers? ive been looking but i cant find anywhere that sells anything even remotely 'large'

Future Raptor Ace 07-14-2008 12:07 AM

^epoxy might do the trick! You have to take blow touch to that stuff to get it off sometimes!
guys check out her myspace now

good job everyone keep the comments coming!

brad 07-14-2008 12:15 AM

hahaha .. awesome!

i think it might be easier for my to buy 8.5x11 adhesive paper and print the stickers myself. if anyone knows of a better alternative let me know.

once we get going i will give a $50 reward to the person that takes a pic of a sticker / poster in the most unique place, it will be a fun contest ... lol

Future Raptor Ace 07-14-2008 12:25 AM

here's my idea, its kindve on the joking side but it can be done in all seriousness.
Supplies,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
1 really powerful spot light
2. a paper or plastic cutout of the text Alizee.
Instructions, place the Alizee name tag on the spotlight and there you have it!

TheBarrett 07-14-2008 12:26 AM

I'll put one of those stickers on FRA's butt. That'll be fun. :p

^ok sure it will be like a free waxing when u take it off = ) plus alizee would get to see my ass

oh and a good place to put it is in a public restroom. Hey when your on the john in a public restroom you and people will read anything you can find, including the graffiti on the walls(i love reading that crap lol).
So put alizee info and stuff in public restroom stalls.

New url for the Facebook group:

http://ltny.hitart.com

I'd like to promote it since the features are a lot nicer than on MySpace!

Zack -Alizee Lover- 07-14-2008 03:24 PM

I think you guys need to promote her in tv rather internet stuff. That's what we did here in Mexico and look what we got ;)

Ben 07-14-2008 07:28 PM

I was thinking the same thing. Hey guys, have you ever watched "Attack of the Show" on G4? It would be awesome to get Alizée on their "Around the Net" segment or similar. If that's legally possible. Mexico's weak copyright laws made these grassroots movements much easier.

Amigo! 07-14-2008 07:59 PM

i miss Ninja Warrior

the girls on that channel are pretty hot too

but nothing compared to the Spanish channels :D

The Dude 07-14-2008 08:21 PM

Hey, I sure would love for Alizee to come to America as much as anyone! Last night as I was foraging downtown for food, someone asked me what I was listening to on my iPod. "Alizee, of coarse", I proudly stated and then went on to teach a lesson in French Pop cultural music (to which I know nothing about... ...). Anyway point is, let’s gets her music out there and heard, even if we have to do it, by selling “cultural diversity” to the non-mainstream types that just want people to think that they are cool because they are on the cutting edge of foreign culture! … … … Just my rambling experience and thoughts! Cheers!
