Alizée and Coachella Fest '09?
 

So the dates for the 2009 Coachella Music & Arts Festival have been confirmed for April 17-19, with the final lineup of acts to be determined in early 2009. Over on the alizee-music blog, aw is suggesting that this might be an interesting opportunity for Alizée, and one that's not without precedent.

Does anybody else think this might be an idea worth pursuing with Lili and/or her management at Sony/BMG? Personally, I think at this point in time, a full-blown North American concert or even an autograph signing might be a bit much to hope for...but something like Coachella, where Lili wouldn't be expected to headline, and Sony wouldn't have to underwrite the bulk of the expenses...that might be do-able, a fairly low-risk method of testing the waters for her, here. And it would give us fans an opportunity to show up en masse, and prove to the suits how much fan support she really has over here.

What do you guys say? Would you be willing to trek to California for an Alizée performance at Coachella? Would you be interested in participating in a sustained effort geared towards making it happen?

Seems good since I am moving there in a month. At least for a time, for promotion.

I would do what ever I could to go if she were going to be there.

I've got another year contract with the army and I'll be on full time in April but I guess I could take leave to go down there...I'ts not that far from me...

she might be able to pull this off... tiesto who is also from europe played there in 07 right after the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He played to a packed audience of chili peper fans and still managed to get the crowd going nuts...

the average american doesn't know who tiësto is just like in the case of alizée... only reason he does have a following is becoz of the internet + clubs... tho recently he did become the first dj to fill a stadium for a concert in the united states in Los Angeles... but as i said im sure alizée will have some following not sure if its on a scale like him, but the internet has worked wonders for him...

Well the internet has done wonders for Alizée, but people who find this little craze might have different thoughts on the new Alizée.
Hopefully she might consider it, she shouldn't consider basing herself on a full promoted career in the USA, but at least she should consider cracking it, it should be beneficial if slightly, to both the people and herself.

LCD Soundsystem and Justice are far and away the best acts on that list, but its about revenue generated.

I think it would be awesome, its just a matter of getting her label and herself to go along with it. I'd definitely go-Coachella always has at least a few acts I'd be willing to see (and in LCD Soundsystem's case last year, one thats at the tops of my list), Alizée would just put it over the top.

Right on. I think we should probably take a few days to see how this whole Grand Rex thing shakes out, one way or the other--because, let's be honest, nobody's going to pay attention to anything else until that's resolved, anyway--then put our heads together to figure out the smartest way to approach this.

In the meantime, everyone put your clever hats on, and see if you can't come up with something...well, clever.

Alizee would fit in nicely at Coachella. It is for alternative music fans, they would appreciate her. Check out youtube, coachella yelle or coachella daft punk or coachella m.i.a. But...easy of us to say where and when we would like Alizee to perform. In the mean time hotel/motels are scrambling due the dates of the festival being moved up 2 weeks. In the area $90 rooms just jumped to $249 a night in one example for that weekend. Staying further away is the key to saving, keep in mind a 60 mile drive through the desert is an easy drive compared to 5 miles on the 91, 5 or 405 in SoCal. It's like olympic diving, there is a degree of difficulty factored in.

You can post for who you wish for 2009. Alizee sneaks in there once on a while, here on a string asking for the Veronicas Alizee sneaks in, or here or whatever anyone here may now go and post and post and post.

I would go if Alizee is coming, because its a little far from Toronto. But anyway, Its a big opportunity for Alizee to show herself a little bit more in America. And maybe a autograph signing is a great Idea, but a concert, maybe after Coachella.
