It might be your firewall. Or your internet is just funky atm.

Future Raptor Ace 10-20-2008 11:09 PM

Idk I havent messed with my firewall, it just started happening out of no where

Tchaikovsky 10-20-2008 11:14 PM

Is this site running slow for you right now?

Future Raptor Ace 10-20-2008 11:26 PM

^yeah because I'm on wireless, my schools wireless is extremely slow here in the dorms, so I use an Ethernet cable. Ive been going on this site since august 25th with this cable and nothing has happened. All of a sudden a few days ago, this site and this site only does not load. It only works off the slow wireless

TheBarrett 10-20-2008 11:44 PM

I would help.
But I can't.
Sowwy mate.

Future Raptor Ace 10-20-2008 11:50 PM

^its ok, thanks for caring

Idéaliser 10-21-2008 07:45 AM

Maybe somebody blocked it :o

lilly 10-21-2008 09:35 AM

If you are using Windows, go here C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. In here you will find a file called 'host'. Open it in notepad, this is a list of ip addresses which will reroute to your computer. If you see a line with alizeeamerica.com along with an ip address then just insert a # before the line.
For eg.

192.168.1.1 alizeeamerica.com
should be changed to
#192.168.1.1 alizeeamerica.com
There are some viruses which copies your recently visited sites or frequently visited sites and puts them here, then you can't access that site,it just to piss you off.
Hope that helped!!

RadioactiveMan 10-21-2008 11:09 AM

If his hosts file pointed to the wrong IP address he wouldn't be able to get on using wireless internet either.

Tiwaz 10-21-2008 12:43 PM

I have trouble connecting to this site sometimes (rest of the internez works fine), but i just wait a while and it usually works.

Tomtentp 10-21-2008 01:02 PM

Try lower the security for that particular network. Or change the security level of you internet browser, in Internet explorer you double click the icon in the right bottom corner that says internet/local network, or whatever network your currently connected to. Then you just lower the security for that connection area.

What browser and operating system are you using?

Future Raptor Ace 10-21-2008 01:47 PM

internet explorer 7.

I went to where you told me to go, Alizee America is not listed

Tomtentp 10-21-2008 03:13 PM

Well, did you try it?
Go tools>internet-options>security
Mark 'Internet'.
Click 'custom level'.
Edit it to 'low' and accept out.

The names of the settings might be diffrent, im using a Swedish version and dunno how it is presented in the English one.

Edit: When I think about it, the same problem would occur for you wireless. What OS are you using? Vista/Xp?
If you could get on the chat or even ventrilo that would make things easier.

Thor Azrail 10-21-2008 04:53 PM

Ok first sorry if this ias a long list of questions but I need it to help determine your problem:

On the wired network:
1. Can you access the site via the IP? (at time of posting 99.198.97.213)
2. Can you use a proxy to get to the site?
3. Can you use TOR (the Onion Router) to get to the site?
4. Can you open other web sites?
5. Can you open a website that streams video? (i.e. youtube, Google video)

About your computer:
1. What OS do you use?
2. What Firewall do you use?
3. What AV/Anti-Spyware Program do you use?

About your schools network:
1. What is there service provider?
2. Are the wireless and wired networks separate or linked
3. Is the net work filtered?

edgar93 10-21-2008 07:35 PM

That happened to me like 2 weeks ago. The next day everything was normal. Try using another computer, maybe the problem is you computer:o.

Youpidou1 10-21-2008 08:50 PM

I helped! I made the thread!

brad 10-21-2008 09:08 PM

disregard the host file tip for the moment. that is a last resort. it is hard to tell what the problem is, but a lot of times it is poor DNS. Especially at places like a University (where they probably maintain their own DNS) or with a crappy ISP.

Try using different DNS servers. In fact, everyone should consider switching to OpenDNS (http://opendns.org). You will notice your internet connection being more 'zippy' because web addresses will resolve much faster. opendns servers are refreshed more often than an ISP and they have many more servers so it is more likely you can use one close to you. they also offer good protection from black listed websites if you choose that to take advantage of it.

Anyway, to make a long story short, use the DNS servers below:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Also, check out opendns.org for more information. it is a really great free resource, i highly recommend it for everyone.

edit:

i also want to point out, if you use a router, you will want to update the DNS servers on your router instead of your computer. if you don't use a router, you can just update them locally on your computer.

if it is locally on your computer it is similar to the path below, i am on a mac right now so i cant look at the exact steps but it is very similar to below:

(network connections --> local area connection (or wireless connection) --> tcp-ip --> manual DNS)

OGRE 10-21-2008 10:29 PM

Future Raptor Ace 11-14-2008 11:15 PM

To everyone, I think the reason for this whole problem is due to errors with Internet explorer 7, so I updated to Internet explorer 8 beta. Let me tell you that it is great and anyone with IE should download this. It is a lot faster too
