Thx for the Info, sounds good.
so they are going to run the business together? What this will mean for Alizee, being involved full time? |
I heard about this from a friend on Facebook who seemed to be very concerned that it might dampen the chances for a new album. I don't think it will. I'm sure they'll still be in other engagements here and there, so they will have other instructors too I'm sure to give them that flexibility and if there comes the opportunity for an album, he can cover while she's in Paris during the week. It's not a positive thing as far as chances for another album, but this isn't the worst news we could've received.

Stomach churning. This may also mean fewer public appearances. She could all but disappear from the Internet. Greg would, of course, want to advertise his dance studio, so there should be some public appearances. As much as Alizee loves Corsica, this might not be a good business decision. There are only 69,000 people in Ajaccio. A very small percent would want dance lessons. Traveling from other cities on the Island would be time consuming. It's not likely many, if any, students will come from the mainland. I wonder how many students they need to earn an acceptable income. The cost of living in Ajaccio is probably not very high. A reduced income may not bother Alizee. Aside from some fashion accessories, she has always lived a modest existence. Having been the center of attention most of her life, I wonder how she will adjust to a more reclusive existence. Again this is probably not a problem as she is a very private person. The worst impact will be on her fans. There's also the--hopeful--possibility, she will get bored and decide to cut an album. After all is said and done, I think the party is over. :fear: |
Well we have so little to go on at this point that there is no sense in worrying. I think she could easily fit an album into her schedule, that's if she wanted to. I think we need to wait until there is some announcement from them or some interview that clarifies what exactly this business decision means, to their careers.

I'm sure Alizée is very excited about the project. I am happiest when Alizée is happy.

The other issue is the average Corsician makes around $37,700 (32,000€) a year in due to the economy being largely based on tourism and fishing. Forty percent of Corsica's total income (GDP) comes from Paris through Government handouts and subsidies. Students are going to come due to the fact it's Alizée and Greg, winners of the 2013 DALS. I don't think there is anyone running a dance studio in Ajaccio that has Greg's background and the number of awards he's acquired for his dance skills. Plus Greg has his families years of experience running a successful dance school to lean on to make it work. The only issue that you brought up that has been discussed before, is there are number of established dance schools in Ajaccio already. The problem is gaining new students not already affiliated with another school and how many students can they really poach from those other schools. It all comes down to X number of students at Y€ per month tuition, minus monthly over head costs. Since then she got married, she's probably planning to have another baby and to be honest the dance school sounds like a good way to settle down. If the school works well she would have her work place just around the corner, would have an income that doesn't depend on the success of albums only her loyal fans buy, and she would have enough time for her family and maybe for a new baby was well. She prefers dancing over music, she always did. When she originally applied for "Graines de stars" she wanted to get in the show as a dancer but there weren't any places left so she became a singer instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure she loves to be a singer but her true passion is dancing. And now with Grégoire she can make her true passion her job. Don't get me wrong, I also want a new album, I really really want one. I will always prefer Alizée her singer. I miss her performances. All I ever wanted was a "real" Alizée concert. Myself in the audience, singing alone and screaming. I'm just trying to be realistic. And I'm happy as long she's happy. But I wonder about something else... if Greg left DALS will he still be part of the DALS tours or not? When he took a break from the show for the first time he was only one of the professional dancers during the tour and had also some extra dances with Alizée. But now? Will DALS still agree to make him part of the tour if he quits? And if they don't... does that mean Alizée might have some free time in January to come back to the Enfoirés? Or will she now spend all her time in the dance school? Who knows... |
I agree a lot with what Jenny has to say. Alizee herself really doesn't care if there's a new album. I've also said it will take somebody else approaching Alizee with these thoughts for it to happen. It' s not likely to happen, after all, we've been running on fumes for the past couple of years, but the start of this school isn't going to be what puts and end to it. It will be Alizee. I'm sure there will be interviews in the near future about this subject and hopefully if she's giving up on us, she will come clean and tell us, instead of deceiving us to promote products like head phones which goes against the reasons why we fell in love with her.

Location
Hello
On the Facebook Page of this new Dance Studio, Gregoire posted the Adress: Le Studio de Danse Lyonnet sera au 48, avenue Noël Franchini en face de Decor 2000. 48, Avenue avenue Noël Franchini across the street from Decor 2000: https://www.google.ch/maps/place/les...8.758192?hl=en |
Thanks leto681 for the information.
It doesn't look like much parking is available there. Edit - I missed the FB link in ALS's edited post... Thanks for the link! |
|
There are more than one businesses operating at #48 :13:
We don't know exactly which space the studio will be using. |

I believe Decor 2000--across the street from the future dance studio--is where we bought the gift certificate for Alizee's wedding. A few minutes drive from where they were wadding in the creek. |
Here's an article Vivi Nini found and posted in FB and I added a Google translation......
https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/cult...cio-1502997221 Again in the early stages of this story, it seems like it's being described as his dance school..." "I'm going to open a new Lyonnet dance studio in Ajaccio !!!", which surprises me. I would think they'd like to have something more like the Alizee and Gregoire Lyonnet school of dance which ensures double star power when you go in if you know what I mean. By saying just Lyonnet, it only ensures one which gives them each the flexibility of going off on other endeavors while the other one is minding the store. The picture is of the storefront of:
Dance Studio Christophe Lyonnet not the one Alizée and Greg are opening. The location they will be opening at looks like a decent one. It is on a busy (but not too busy) street. It will be seen by many. :) |

Alizée and Greg are posting daily on their Dance studios Facebook page. Might be worth spending some time over there. They put up three dance videos one being the Super Kids with Alizée on the panel.

Wasn't there something they bought for this place a couple of years ago when they first talked about a dance school in Ajaccio like a dancing figure or statue or what ever you call it? I thought I had it, but can't find it.

They started an instagram account for the studio: https://www.instagram.com/studiodedanselyonnetajaccio/ https://instagram.fphl2-3.fna.fbcdn....70981888_n.jpg |
I think it was posted in here when a dance studio was first talked about, but I can't find a thread for it. It showed a wooden box about 4'x4' by 6" thick. The side cover was off showing the figure inside. I think it might've been like a ballerina.

October 1st is a Sunday that is a good sign to hold an event, lets say they do but what are their plans for this day? We need to know in time. |
I've heard people who have turned down nominations in the past have wound up feeding the fishes if you know what I mean....
It will be interesting to see what kind of opening event they have. It could be something simple with drinks and snacks to begin with, then getting down to dancing business in the afternoon. But I think it will be much bigger than that. I think there will be several people there from the 'industry', such as some of Gregoire's fellow professional dancers, some people from DALS such as Chris Marques, Jean-Marc Généreux and Marie-Claude Pietragalla and I think Patrick Fiori would definitely go if he has the chance. I'm sure other singers would go too that Alizee has met with over the years if and this is the key issue, if they're not commited to something else. It could be everybody has commitments in which case it's back to plan A, but I think this will be a big day there. |
Ouventure on 1st october. No information about an event?

I want to write a E-Mail to the dance studio.
I think it would be better to write it in french, maybe someone can help me to write a short E-Mail. I want to ask them what is planed for the day on 1st october and if its open for everyone who are interested to visit the studio. |
I can't help write French but you could try to write it first in your favorite language, then use a translator app to translate into French, and then use the app to translate it back into the original language to see how much it changes. Then keep editing the original until it seems that the meanings didn't change too much. The less written, the better.
I don't know if there is an event planned. Is that is just the date that classes begin? |

1st October is a Sunday, I thought first why are they working on Sunday... but yeah people have time on sunday and from what from what i've read its common to offer dance courses on Sunday. And so far they didnt mention anything about an opening event. I dont really dont know maybe they do but just on a very small scale. Maybe they dont want a large crowd in their building due to restricted space availability or they just want privacy which is understandable. Or nothing is planed and like you said it is just the start that classes begin. |
Looks to me like they really are in the space that was the bakery
