Don't remember for other foreign people but it may be true as well. Accent are tones in the spoken mode, not in singing mode I guess...

If you listen to The Beatles, their English accent is very apparent when they (any of them) sing.

But not the Irish, they loose their accent when they sing, anybody know why? And I'm not talking about Irish folk tunes but bands from Ireland like U2.

Ariane Moffatt is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Montréal, still rather new but so far I like what she has done, and she just won 2 Félix awards(Québec's Junos/Grammys) for best pop-rock album and female artist of the year. The rest of the videos and music is streamed on her Canadian site: http://www.arianemoffatt.com/

This is the new single Montéal off her new album Le cœur dans la tête

Wow, glad to see I'm not the only Joydrop fan, and a song off of Metasexual even more impressive. Most people only know of the video for Sometimes Wanna Die. And I actually met Tara Slone and the boys back in 02 after a small concert at the Marquee Club in Halifax and still have the copy of Viberate they signed for me. Too bad they are separated and pursuing different projects, Tara Slone's new CD was just released(digitally anyway, actual CD scheduled for January) you can download it here Just Look Pretty And Sing
