Whisky or Whiskey?

:)
Which one?

Pretty sure it's whisky :p

It is most definitely Whiskey ;)

I checked and stand corrected - it is Whisky. The spell checker says it is an invalid word though.

What is your favorite kind?

Don't everyone answer my question about your favorite whiskey all at once! ;)
(I am changing the spelling to whiskey with an "e" to pass the spell checker)

When I was younger, money was tight, so I just bought whiskeys that you can mix with soft drinks (Coke especially) to make them tolerable. Another name for them is Rot Gut whiskey. :D

So, I'm older now and don't have the expense of raising a family anymore, so I can enjoy the finer things in life a little bit. Four years ago I experienced the Bourbon Trail in Louisville, Kentucky and toured the Evan Williams distillery and learned the tricks of enjoying bourbon whiskey as a "sipping" whiskey. Since then I only buy the top shelf whiskeys and maybe add a single ice cube to my drink to release the flavors.

I like bourbon, but very partial to scotch whiskeys. I have one particular rye whiskey that I would match up with anything, but it is very hard to find and I have only owned maybe a half dozen bottles in my life.

Lately I have been rediscovering Canadian whiskeys, which have come a long way. It used to be that you would have to mix them to tolerate it, but some of their finer spirits are sip-able and delicious.

Next!

I remember drinking a very light apple brandy, but only had half bottle to start, very tasteful, as well as sweet smelling, is a good sipping drink!

Jack Daniels had the best taste imo. Although I don't drink whisky.

I found my palate changed as I got older. It certainly changes for food, but also for adult beverages. When I had kids, I stopped drinking for 20 years. To be a good example. Didn't help much - they still did what they wanted to do :13:
. Prior to that, I liked beers with a heavy malty taste (particularly Belgium), stouts, and ales. Now I have no taste for malty beers at all. I prefer very hoppy beers, like IPA's.

Not so much...

but...

There is a drink that I like with Limoncello, which is a lemony liquor. It is mixed in a champagne glass with some Brut champagne, and then a small scoop of raspberry sorbet is added. It's definitely a girly dessert drink, but after a couple of these, I am feeling pretty happy! :)
