Alizée recently participated in the recording of a program to be broadcast at the end of summer on C8. I'm not sure of the title for now, so I'll call it Danse avec les moutons. The article mentions 'transhumance' but I have no idea what that is.

Mais on ne savait pas si c’était adaptable en France.» Et le producteur de partir assez vite en repérage dans le village de L’Espérou (Gard), au sud des Cévennes. C’est là qu’a lieu l’une des fêtes de la transhumance, le voyage des bêtes depuis leur bergerie dans la vallée jusqu’à des pâturages en altitude. Il a fallu trois jours pour dénicher un berger qui accepterait de partager son quotidien avec des célébrités.
«Quand on vient de Paris, qu’on n’y connaît rien aux moutons, c’est compliqué, confie le producteur de C 8. Et puis, on est tombés sur Jimmy, un type ultra attachant avec un bon accent du Sud.»

En prime time à la rentrée

Cet ex-boucher de 40 ans est devenu berger après un licenciement. «Au départ, il a commencé avec six bêtes, précise Laurent Marchi. Puis son meilleur ami lui a légué son troupeau avant sa mort. Alors qu’aujourd’hui les déplacements se font en camion, lui souhaitait perpétuer les traditions. C’est exactement ce qu’on voulait raconter.»

Pour ce premier numéro tourné mi-juin, les chanteuses Liane Foly et Alizée, ainsi que les deux frères champions de handball Nikola et Luka Karabatic, suivent la première transhumance de Jimmy, accompagné de ses deux chiens. Au programme : trois jours pour parcourir 45 kilomètres à pied, au rythme des moutons.

«Ils marchaient très tôt le matin et après 18h30. Entre les deux, le troupeau dormait», précise la production, qui a aussi filmé des rencontres avec des locaux, dont un apiculteur. C8 devrait diffuser ce programme champêtre à la rentrée, en prime time. Un premier test, avant d’éventuellement lancer un autre tournage au printemps prochain.

Does this stream work for you? I can watch it, quality is also not bad. It seems the audio delays somehow :/)

Yes that stream works great...no delay in audio......that is awesome! Thank you!

The program schedule on the stream is also the same as on the official homepage, so no delay of the stream!
Recording is no problem I guess it's available later on demand but temporarily save it for us is no mistake.
I hope someone from french records it directly from a TV for the best possible quality.
We will see.

If it's really necessary I would post mine ^^

AIFC had posted the video on FB and I was able to capture it in MP4 format using my video editing program and the file size was about 5gb. . Did the version that members downloaded here have the closed caption option by any chance? If it did, it'd be fairly simple to translate them to English then add them as subs, though it would take a while.

I did not think to activate the subtitles :/

Yes they are, not very accurate but they really help you to understand atleast something.

Turns out there are 8 Youtube segments.
The transcripts for each of these videos can be downloaded (which I did). They can also be translated by Google translate, so many lines at a time. It will be interesting to see if there's an easy way to upload these English subs to the video (that will have to be re-uploaded), then sit back and see if they make sense!

For the 1080i I will try to do it next week, for now I can not make a clean cut :/

I'm uploading the version I had to my Google drive. It certainly wont be the best version out there, but I think it will be a safe version.

I explored different options for translating the auto generated subtitles created by Youtube and it seems on the surface that the Youtube service itself provided a good translation, but it was only good enough to get the gist of the story, but what it seemed to fail to do was translate accurately what Alizee was saying.

I have to first mention that I still haven't delved deeply into this show, but at this point it appears this is no 'SAGA'. SAGA was a show where was it 5 singers who got together to tell their stories, but none was so interesting, none was so fascinating as that of Alizee and the other members of the show were caught up in this fascination and so this show revolved around Alizée. We got to hear her beautiful voice. We got to hear her incredible story and we again see what she is really like inside and see the things that make her dear to us.

At this early point, I don't think that is what this show is or can be about. It's about this event, this tradition. It's an interesting story in a beautiful part of France, a part I'd like to now go and see. But we are here for Alizee and I doubt if it can entertain us beyond watching this one or two times.

Maybe as I see more, I will change my mind, but for now, I think it will be good if someone can pare this down to a video that just tells the story of the drive and beyond that, just includes clips of Alizee.

All I can say is French Television must be pretty desperate for ideas to put on a show about GOAT Herding.

Well I think this had the potential for being an interesting show for a certain element. This is a beautiful part of France and it'd be interesting for a lot of people to see how things were done years ago.

I think someone had the idea of putting some good things together and feeling something very good would result and so often we see, that is not the case. Very good ingredients in, often doesn't equal a good product out. Even the inclusion of Alizée with producers who didn't know how to handle such a beautiful ingredient, couldn't make this an interesting show.

This program seemed to focus on Liane Foly (either intentionally or unintentionally). The way they overlayed language, a good portion of Alizée's comments were stepped on by her. Clearly, they are attracting an older viewing audience. Alizée is not an equal part of the show, nor is the guy. This is a bunch of older folks on TV for older folks. And yes, the older audience would likely enjoy the show.

It was still fun to watch Alizée in it. I hope it spurs more TV possibilities for her. :)

Alizée : Grâce à mon métier, j'ai la chance d'avoir accès à de nouvelles expériences. J'ai eu envie de me surpasser, car je ne suis pas une grande sportive, mais j'aime par dessus tout les animaux. Je souhaitais également comprendre le quotidien du métier d'un berger.

Quelle a été votre première réaction quand on vous a proposé cette émission ?

Alizée: Je me suis dit 'pourquoi pas ?' La nature, les bergers, les moutons... Ce n'est finalement pas si éloigné de mon univers en Corse. Je savais que j'allais vivre de belles choses et avoir des souvenirs dont je me rappellerai toute ma vie

Vous vous investissez toujours à fond dans tous les projets télévisuels que vous faites : comment vous êtes-vous préparée pour cette transhumance ?

Alizée: Je ne m'y suis pas du tout préparée (rires). J'étais tentée de marcher quelques kilomètres chez moi à Ajaccio pour m'entraîner, mais finalement ne pas être prête est mieux. Ma démarche était naturelle et j'ai pu vivre les choses à fond et découvrir au fur et à mesure les joies de la nature, des courbatures et de la fatigue !

Alizée: Quelle a été la plus grande difficulté de ce périple ?

Pour ma part le manque de sommeil ! Je suis un peu comme les enfants : dès que je manque un peu de sommeil les journées me semblent interminables. On commençait très tôt le matin et les soirées s'éternisaient un petit peu. Le temps de rentrer, de se prendre une très longue douche et de se coucher, il fallait déjà se lever !

Pourquoi ne vous êtes vous pas approchés des ruches lors du premier jour ?

Alizée: Je n'aime pas les insectes... Etant petite, je me suis fait piquer à plusieurs reprises et j'en garde de très mauvais souvenirs. Je peux même en faire des cauchemars la nuit.

Etes vous toujours en contact avec Liane Foly et Luka Karabatic depuis la fin de cette aventure ?

Alizée : On a créé un groupe sur nos téléphones où l'on s'envoie des petits messages pour prendre des nouvelles et s'envoyer des photos. On échange aussi avec l'équipe, car c'était vraiment chouette niveau ambiance. Une mention spéciale pour les techniciens et caméramen qui ont fait un travail de fou. Nous, nous n'avions qu'un bâton et un petit sac à dos à porter, mais eux, entre les caméras, les gros sacs pour le mix du son et surtout le parcours des 45 kilomètres en marche arrière, c'était un peu les techniciens de l'extrême !

Pourriez-vous revivre cette expérience avec votre fille Annily ?

Alizée: Pourquoi pas ! C 'est vraiment une belle expérience et une jolie rencontre avec Jimmy. Ma fille, c'est un peu ma petite Brigitte Bardot tant elle aime et défend les animaux.

Pouvez-vous nous parler de certains de vos projets ?

Alizée: Le projet le plus proche et le plus concret à ce stade est l'ouverture de notre studio de danse avec Grégoire (Lyonnet, son mari, ndlr) à Ajaccio.

Alizée : Je n’avais pas d’ampoules, mais les chevilles très enflées. J’ai mis une petite semaine à m’en remettre. Nous avons beaucoup mangé pendant trois jours. J’étais venue pour perdre quelques kilos, c’est raté !

Qu’est-ce qui vous a séduite dans ce concept ?

Alizée: Comme pour Danse avec les stars, c’était de me surpasser, vivre une expérience, découvrir un métier que je ne connaissais pas. Quel beau métier !

L’absence totale de glamour n’a pas l’air de vous déranger…

Alizée: Pas du tout ! Je suis dans l’émission comme je suis chez moi. Le strass et les paillettes, c’est bien, mais la vraie vie se rapproche plus de ce que j’ai vécu pendant cette transhumance.

Quelle image aviez-vous du berger avant l’émission ?

Alizée: J’imaginais quelqu’un d’âgé, vivant dans les montagnes et ne connaissant rien à part ses bêtes. Honnêtement, je ne pensais pas que le métier de Jimmy était aussi physique.

Trois jours avec Liane Foly, c’est sportif également !

Alizée: Je la connais depuis dix-sept ans, Tata Liane ! Je savais qu’on allait rire et être heureuses de vivre cette expérience ensemble.

Dans l’émission, vous avez l’air aussi à l’aise en cuisine que dans les montagnes…

Alizée: Il paraît que je suis une bonne maîtresse de maison ! Je suis devenue maman à 20 ans, j’aime prendre soin de mon chez-moi et de ma famille. J’ai le sentiment d’être utile.

Quels souvenirs gardez-vous de votre première nuit de camping ?

Alizée: Folklorique ! Je ne suis pas près de redormir sous une tente ! Je n’aime pas les insectes, les bruits bizarres… Pourtant, j’ai souvent dormi sur la plage à Ajaccio, quand j’étais plus jeune.

Vous avez une autorité naturelle avec les brebis. Vous avez été monitrice de colo ?

Alizée: Pas du tout ! (Rires) J’ai deux chiens à la maison, il faut savoir élever la voix pour se faire entendre.

On sent un lien très fort entre Jimmy et vous. Vous l’avez même fait pleurer…

Alizée: J’observe beaucoup quand je ne connais pas. C’est peut-être mon caractère corse. J’ai découvert en Jimmy un homme incroyable, c’était important de le lui dire. S’il a besoin de nous l’année prochaine, je répondrai présente !
