Well, from the samples you and Ruro posted on Twitter, I kinda have to disagree. It seems to reveal as much as with any other kind of music at least. I think I could listen to 30 seconds of probably any of those songs and get the idea. 30 seconds from the middle somewhere

I have to agree with Ben here with you can't define metal with snippets :p

metal changes from band to band, song to song, and even within the same song from minute to minute

Yeah, even the most aggressive song can have a gentle section. Metal's often the glue that blends styles together within an album or even a single track.

Ok, well, when you're talking about a 10 minute song...
I kinda liked part of that one for a certain mood. Reminds me of something, but I can't quite remember. Some movie maybe?
The thing is, it's so mellow or melancholy, that it only works for me in certain situations (at least that part of the song). There was a time when I'd probably have liked it better, especially if it was popular. Though, the growling thing never appealed to me.
