Gregoire: A Crossing Current?
 

DISCLAIMER: This is just an interpretational theory.

Remember A Contre-Courant? I know its been a long time since the song's inception, but I feel it is worth taking another look at...

To start off, the song lyrics constantly refer to crossing currents and the love of two universes becoming one. And the video? Well, she is constantly chasing a well-built dancer who has been evading her grasp.

Sound familiar, doesn't it? A woman crossing the path of man, who both have been waiting so long...with so much to come. She fears it won't last though, which is why she is taking time off to spend with him, since time is sadly not frozen still.

While the lyrics describe the exact situation she has been going through with this man she has recently finally discovered, it is important to take a look at the man in the music video.

In the video we can see a built dancing man who she has utterly fallen for. She's been chasing him for so long, and he has finally allowed their paths to cross. While she may have caught her man, the fear of losing him to the loss of passion has driven her to spend more time with him, to renew their bond and energize their current.

Take from this what you will, but I feel we are witnessing a direct play-by-play of her personal life: the past, present, and future.

An interesting theory. Well presented. :)

However, I believe that the match with Gregoire is evolving into a lifetime relationship. They both seem to be doing what they need to do in order to make it work for the long term. :)

Well times like that don't happen too often so I'm sure she will make the most of it everyday. :)

As I said last fall if they can stay together through the summer it was for the long term. :)

If he's that involved with her daughter, then I think they're pretty serious.
