I saw that too but the thread was closed. The guy who said that does not know what he is talking about, typical, making statements without any facts. :rolleyes:

But yeah, France is indeed a member of NATO. So is Germany, speaking of which good luck against Austria. I have a feeling you guys will rout them. :)

It's all very well being 'in NATO' - but if they don't offer up their bases or a firm commitment of forces then saying you are 'in NATO' is next to useless.

Imagine if you are trying to plan convoy escorts - would you risk thousands of lives on whether French escort ships are going to turn up / be allowed to fight?

NATO as the name suggests is an alliance - it's not for dipping in and out of as you see fit, especially as the French did during the Cold War.

Most of europe watches our process of electing a president and laugh. To them it's like watching American Idol. It's more of a contest of personality than it is of the issues. Dispite that, I feel that we could benifit by electing Obama. It would tell the rest of the world that we have arrived.

I am sorry to say this is quite right. I, sort of laugh a bit, but it's not a pure joke, I understand, most Americans I meet with always mention how they hate Bush and stuff.

He's used that thing on other threads, so I think it's a copy and paste thing he has.
