Yesss!
This past July I spent a month in Paris with Oxbridge Academic Programs, and, on the last day of class, my teacher was going through his iTunes, picking and choosing random songs.
Just as I'm about to poke fun at him for his musical tastes, there unfolds the melody of Moi... Lolita! I was astonished, considering practically all of the music prior to this was American, and commented on how the song was one of my favorites. He replied that I shouldn't tell that to anyone in France (
).
And then, quite naturally, after Alizée came Mylène (!) with Désenchantée, which he proclaimed to be "real French music," or something similar.
