Karla, in a way I think you're right. It's just an arbitrary milestone of how long a person has been an active member. Some post more than others, and maybe some people have more thoughtful posts than others, but many disappear well before they reach 1000 posts. So it is by no means a reliable true measure of something important, but some kind of milestone is worth noting, I believe. Anyways, it give us an excuse to celebrate something.
And it gives us an opportunity to tell a fellow member that their presence here is appreciated.
Karla, I hope you stick around long enough to reach 1000. Like it or not, we're going to celebrate !
