I was talking less about Texas in general than about Texas A&M University, which is the venue of that web site that Scruffy participated in.
Do you know where that concert was held? The biggest cities in Texas (Houston and Dallas) are not necessarily the best ones to hold a concert in a foreign language other than Spanish. (A Spanish language concert you could do almost anywhere because of the large Mexican immigrant population.) Probably the best place would be Austin, the state capital. That city also has the University of Texas, which unlike A&M is actually a very good school and draws an above-average student body. For Texas, it's a very progressive place.
