lol he is wrong though, you can see a Mach cone! What was wrong with the clip is it went from a bow shock (which is from bluff bodies) to an oblique shock (which is from sharp edged bodies). Upon saying that i was surprised at how well the animators did in representing a shock wave especially in a cartoon for little girls!
Why you can see it is because the air losing pressure and density allowing condensation to form ... you are basically seeing moisture leak from the over expanded air.
