I got one of these along with a few other special edition Tolkien books(the Hobbit, illustrated with the dragon on the front and gold lettering, the Silmaril illustrated, the green leather bound LOTR), blew $350 at Barnes and Noble's one day
I'd have to crack it open but IIRC the pages are 'gold gilded' like a typical bible and the text is in red ink.
