There is also the element of deceit. I don’t care if a singer lip synchs on a show where it is evident that the performance is not live (no musicians and performance is identical to recorded version). I have come to accept that as “normal” for certain kind of shows. My problem with this particular performance of Hélène with RV and Alizée is that the makers of the show obviously wanted to trick people into thinking it was live (the musicians, RV unplugging his guitar at the end...), which is deceiving, if it is not the case. As far as I am concerned, it is not such a big deal if Alizée wants to use lip synching when it is understood by all that she does, but here, it is a little too deceiving for my taste, especially that RV is capable of delivering such a performance live, but for Alizée, it remains to be shown.
