Could be I got no taste or just a bad one... But I prefer LaFee's new music to the old. I mean, "Frei" ["Free"] is what I call a very good (or perhaps I should say "fantastic" or something in this fashion... because "good" is a rather weak word) album, while her first 4 albums were rather like average. Better than worse but still nothing special and really shallow. Paradoxically, for they are pop-rock while "Frei" is more mainstream regular pop. But then, in "Frei" LaFee tries out many more musical things, also when it comes to some incospicuous sounds in the background (the instrumental in "Ich bin" ("I am") after the last chorus a bit like EA's FLAG song and the violin that is not that much obvious... but it is there!). Well, I'm no good at describing music in details but you know what I mean, I just mean that it's interesting and does not make me fall asleep like Alizée's "Blonde".
Also new LaFee's lyrics are much better than the older ones. The issues in her songs are not so cliché (like "Prinzesschen"/"Little Princess" is) and they contain more emotions. IMHO in her old era she used to choose either more remote topics for her or usual teenage problems (and I'm not saying the latter is necessarily a bad option yet it just takes more skills to word it in a worthy way - sorry but "Heul doch"/"Shut up" don't compare to "C'est trop tard"; it's easier to work out more mature lyrics, so it seems to me). I got a feeling they're built in a more skillful way now and that her usage of metaphores etc. is better now.

And why can't "Mon planeur" be as awesome as "Fliegen mit mir" ("Flying with me")...

Sorry for my long delirious writing but I'm constantly feeling like giving vest to all those thoughts inside me .
