I think I've said it before, but Alizée looks like a very welcoming person; a very warm, friendly and funny person. I think the word "charisma" is the word I was looking for before, but "warmth" and "charm" are also applicable.
We've attempted to compare Alizee with Julia and it's unfair to Julia because the bar is set so high. I think in a way Julia being a protege of Mylene might have hurt Julia more than helped her early on because immediately fans started making comparisons, and I have to admit that I had done so myself.
This new song looks to be Julia's attempt to stand on her own two feet - I don't see Mylene's name anywhere. Alizee had a lot to lose when splitting from Mylene. Julia had very little to lose because she had mediocre success at best. Maybe nobody will even notice.
Being a solo artist is tough enough just producing music that people want to hear, but you have to connect to your audience. It's not a skill that is learned.
