i tried to rename using automator but it doesn't work because i can only replace certain text or add things to the file name. this doesn't solve the problem. unless someone can do it 1 by 1, it will be too time consuming to do for me. i'll keep trying for other solutions to workaround the problem. anyone with suggestions feel free to let me know. (or if anyone can make an applescript to replace the whole filename with something else...)
