So, as I might have mentioned here (or more likely in chat), my friend had been bugging me to try World of Warcraft out...probably for about a year. I finally caved last month, made a hunter and named him Jacotey. For those who don't know about this game, hunters get a pet animal (wolves, lions, raptors, boars, etc.) that they can fight with. My pet, of course, is always named Alizée.
Tonight I was fighting monsters in this cave on my way to complete a quest, when a party of characters showed up, doing the same thing. This is a small cave, so I said "why don't we party up, since we're doing the same quest?" They invited me to their group, and I noticed they were all speaking a foreign language. (In Warcraft, when you're in a party, you have access to party-only chat that no one else can see). It didn't take me too long to realize that they were speaking
French.
Imagine being one of those people. You're French. You're playing a game dominated by the English language. You're running around, doing your thing,
when you stumble upon a character named Jacotey with a wolf named after a pop star you haven't heard about in THREE years. Add onto it, this person clearly doesn't speak French. I dunno...
I thought it was hysterical, so I imagine it must have been a LOT funnier for them.
