As for how I discovered Alizée, it was pure chance, and I think I had a similar induction to many others here. I was on Youtube, looking at something completely unrelated (can't remember what), and Alizée's cover of La Isla Bonita came up in the list of suggested videos. I like Madonna's version of that song, so I clicked on it.
It was the looks that grabbed me immediately, but I also loved her singing, and I immediately checked out some of the other videos of her (J'en Ai Marre, Ella Elle L'a (sp?)), and realised that this was great music, very different to the indie/rock that I normally listen to. The personality that she portrays attracts me as well, both from how she comes over in the videos I've seen and from what I've read here. So really, physical appearance, music and character are what have drawn me in.
I'll post more extensively about all this soon when I'm less tired...got a few things I need to get off my chest so to speak...
