Smile What is the estimated traffic to Alizée's official Web site? (episode 3)

A very imperfect impression of the popularity of Alizée is communicated by Web traffic. The number of sites she maintains on the Internet continues to grow, but in recent months, we have designated the one most associated with the sale of her fourth studio album, Une Enfant Du Siècle, viz. http://alizee-officiel.com , as her "official" website, for the purpose of measuring her popularity by Web traffic.

Quantcast Data

Quantcast data focusing on the two months (February and March 2010) before the release of Une Enfant Du Siècle is incomplete, apparently due to a blackout interval, but the dramatic surges in daily traffic are still evident for much of this period. Another interesting feature is how this global traffic also lurches to concentrate in France. This is consistent with the idea of vigorous promotion of the album during this period in the various French media: TV, radio, print, online.

Geographic breakdown of the monthly data reveals that even in May, the "repatriation" of traffic to France remained very pronounced. In the previous posting (of 11 March), the January data cited there showed the French fraction as being a quarter of the global total, whereas now in the May data it was half. A similar landslide was seen in the global city data, letting Paris emerge as the most important identified city by a two-to-one margin. The previously vigorous Mexican, US and German fractions were cut back significantly, and the previously important Russian and Polish traffic fractions were vastly diminished.
