I find the 40+ million increase in views over the course of a few months this year to be quite amazing. It is a 35 year old song sung by Madonna during the height of her career. Being one of her most popular hits, it was played for years afterward because Madonna's popularity went for decades.
So somebody searching YouTube for Madonna videos would come across her video of La Isla Bonita, or maybe search for La Isla Bonita never knowing another singer (from Corsica) made a video singing it and checked it out and became their first exposure to Alizee. And of course it was love at first sight.
But this is 2021. Madonna's last album Madame X flopped badly a few years ago, but her popularity has been declining for longer than that.
The point is that ten or fifteen years ago, Alizee's La Isla Bonita video was probably found more times accidentally than on purpose. Today I think it is reversed.
