Another Writer sent me this;
There was a Cat that lived with Aliens on a Space Ship !
Wherever they went to a Planetoid or a Planet and the Cat wanted to go out; the Aliens could 'Dial" their door and give the Cat the environment she wanted
to go out in ! This was usually Summer with Green Grass and Trees, Blue Skies and White Clouds with a few Mice, Birds, Rabbits, and Squirrels to chase ! When the Cat wanted to go in it would go back to the Spaceship door and Bat a Button and the Aliens would let her back in !
But one day the Aliens were chased by some Earthlings; so they took off; but they forgot the Cat ! The Cat waited for them, but they didn't come back ! So the Cat went to look for a new master; because she didn't want to have to hunt for her Crunchies ! She found a home with a writer and his wife and waited outside his door till they discovered her and took her in. And they fed her Crunchies and sometimes Fish which she liked very much ! But where the writer lived it got cold and snowy in the winter. So when the cat wanted to go out; she would make the writer take her to every door going out of the house; because she expected the weather to be better outside of a different door ! The writer thought this was strange and remarked to his wife; "why does she do this ?" But the wife realized the Purpose of the cat, who didn't like the snow ! His wife told him; "she is looking for the Door into Summer !"
So the writer liked the idea and so he called his next science fiction book "The Door into Summer" ! Which is how you will find it if you look for it; Titled because of a Space Cat !
