I was very interested in your story about how you discovered Alizée. "Moi Lolita" is also one of my favourite songs. There is just something so catchy and compelling about that song and her voice--or the way she sings it. Whatever the explanation, to me it certainly gets my attention and keeps it.
I am not familiar with Amy Macdonald, so your mention of her has made me interested and I am going to look her up. I'm afraid there are so many singers I am not aware of. Exactly as you put it:
