They are in the process of cleaning the St-Martin canal in Paris. They do this every few years and in the process discover some interesting things.
This canal was the site of one of the scenes from the movie Amélie (2001). Amélie was a fictional story of a young waitress in Paris. She is an innocent and naive girl with her own sense of justice. She decides to help those around her and, along the way, discovers love.
In that scene, Amélie can be seen skipping stones across the water of the canal from one of it's gates. The role of Amélie was played by Audrey Tautou.
The song Amélie m'a dit, was written by Mylene Farmer in 2003 and was sung by Alizée.
It was rumored that this song would be Alizée's next single, but her life took a turn in a different direction.
