Not every change is an improvement, but you can’t have improvement if you don’t change. Change is necessary for continued growth and most artists must evolve to stay relevant over a long period of time, at least if they want to remain successful in the music business.

@Jung, your point is well taken. Some of Alizée’s old fans may be just weighing her down by trying to hold her to what she used to be. Maybe it’s time to just gracefully let them go their own way. As Ben once said, trying to compromise between fans that wanted her to be Lolita and fans that were ready for change caused her to miss both target groups. I don’t think her future lies in the past.

No doubt the new album will be another change. I’m looking forward to it because I like it when an artist challenges people to be open-minded, as long as it's a quality product. And with the type of people Alizée chooses to work with, along with her own skill in the studio, I'm confident we're going to get quality.
