Default Recording Industry Association of America RIAA
a Mylene Farmer video was removed recently from Youtube, called "Desenchantee" because of this reason...

"This video has been removed at the request of copyright owner RIAA because its content was used without permission"

Now, if one of Mylene Farmers videos was removed, whats to stop any of Alizees videos being removed as well?

Anyone else frightened at this prospect? Brad?

hmmm, thats quite a delima. Could short-stop the increase in fans for Alizee here in the U.S. seeing as its her only source of spreading her fame. However, there may have been something with that video that caused such action to be taken. Maybe, just no credit given to Mylene for something or other. I believe that the RIAA would have been all over youtube.com years ago if having music videos on there was an issue. There must be thousands.

This isn't good, I learned about Alizee from google video, from the top 100, is this just youtube or other websites?

yes .. i have thought about this. i actually expect something to come along one day. however, most of these videos are from tv performances .. so it would be up to the TV companies to ask for them to be removed. These would not be under the RIAA's domain.

with the exception of the music videos / concerts. Well .. i think so anyway. You never know. If they ask me to remove stuff, I will of course remove it. Lets hope they never notice us

I think the DVD vids are the highest risk for you to get into trouble...probably not the music videos. I dunno. The Farmar removal was strange, since as other people have pointed out, thousands and thousands of music videos are on YouTube right now.

The RIAA is a bunch of douche bags! Services such as Google Video, Youtube, etc only help to promote these artists. I really wish that someone would bring down the RIAA and stop their strong arm tactics.
