Default could you help me find educational music?

hi everybody

Mylene Farmer sings about several very important life lessons in her music, as does Alizee. I was wondering, do you know about any other musicians from other countries (any country) who also sing about really important life lessons. Any language is fine, i'll look up translations my preferences: russian, arabic, french, spanish, chinese.

thanks very much!

Tegan and Sara have a song about trees. Annihilator also has an environmentalist song called "Stonewall," but I don't know if you consider trees to be important life lessons.

ManOwaR
has some very important lyrics in their songs (like wearing denim and leather and being true to heavy metal), but unlike the first two examples I don't think that anyone besides me and a small handful of other people care.

KISS sings about sex and rock 'n' roll almost exclusively, so that's important too.

Those are all in English, though. If you want some songs in other languages I'll dig up some Norwegian Black Metal for you.

Murder By Death's album In Bocca Al Lupo sings a lot about sin, redemption, and life in general. I don't know if that is exactly what you're looking for, but they do have some lyrics you can take to heart in a storytelling style, and the music is great too.

Hmm... I'm not sure if they qualify as "important life lessons," but They Might Be Giants have several songs that would qualify as educational - "James K. Polk," "The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas," and "Mammal" being perhaps most prominent.

Whell Billy Idol got two meanings in hes lyrics. You'll have to figure those out for yourself but I can give you a small tip on White Weddding it stands for People throwing them selves into marridge in hope to find happiness.

i don't see how there are life lessons in MF's or alizee's songs.

could you please explain?

but if you want some really, really deep songs with life lessons, then try listening to some old hindi/urdu/hindustani songs. (songs that were released between 1900s and 1960s). i listened to a few of these songs a while back and it was the first time that a song ever brought tears to my eyes based on the meaning.

Lui ou Toi = don't ever get into the unpleasant experience of choosing between two girls/boys for your date

Devant Soi = know yourself and your future will fall to your feet

A quoi reve une jeune fille = don't give up your goals no matter how hard life gets

Coeur déjà pris = What a lost love feels like (a bit less than experiencing it myself i'm told )

Avant que l'ombre = What a lost love feels like (ultra mature version of Coeur déjà pris)

C'est une belle journée = don't fear death and you will find the key to life

Regrets = Don't live your life in 1 second of regret and it will be the most fulfilling possible

Souviens-toi du jour = About any day in your life that was life changing

Dans les rues de Londres = the first time anybody in my whole LIFE related to my pain of feeling lonely

Rever = world peace

Les mots = very romantic love song

Parler tout bas = you have to move forward however painful it might be, don't live in the past

Redonne-moi = the first time anybody in my life related to my sadness thinking about my past mistakes then BOOM don't do that, its not living life to the fullest

Crier la vie = stay strong even when you are weak

L'Alizé = being a free spirit

Lucy Kaplansky Various songs like “Still Life” off the album “Flesh And Bone”

Sadness is a little boy looking
Out the window high above the city
Counting statues of people on the buildings
Thinking that the people are forever

He wants his father to be a statue
On the rooftop of his fatherless home…

Gretchen Peters .....Album: “Gretchen Peters”

Ambrosia .....Album "Ambrosia"

Ken Nordine .....Album: “Word Jazz”

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/E185zopXrxs"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/E185zopXrxs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

David Wilcox .....Album: “Home Again” (American folk singer)

Say good-bye to your twenties
Tomorrow is the Big 3-0
For my birthday present
I've got a place where we can go
It's a lesson in motion
To ride the wildest ride
We're gonna climb to the top of the roller coaster
And look down the other side
So let me ride in the front car
And you ride right behind
And I'll click my snapshot camera
At exactly the right time
Shoot back over my shoulder
Catch the fear no one can hide
When we tip the top of the roller coaster
And look down the other side
Over the hill
So when the prints come back
We can look at that unmistakable birthday fear
Like your younger days are over now
And its all down hill from here
It was a happy birthday
You surprised us all
So take a look at this glossy picture
I framed it for your wall
It's the moment of truth
It's the top of your youth
The camera don't lie
You might be screaming
But there's a meaning
In the laughter in your eyes
It seems to be saying
Of course there will be fear
But this is why we stand in line
Spend that time
Make that climb
To finally feel the other side
And it's all down hill from here
We're gonna climb to the top of the roller coaster
And look down the other side

Of course there’s old Bob Dylan stuff:

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Make everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much is really sacred.

And old Simon & Garfunkel:

Its a still life water color,
Of a now late afternoon,
As the sun shines through the curtain lace
And shadows wash the room.
And we sit and drink our coffee
Couched in our indifference,
Like shells upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar
In the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs,
Are the borders of our lives.

Sorry, all english, mostly folk, some old, but educational.
