Official Euro 2008 Thread

Euro 2008 kicks off today. This looks to be a very competitive tournament. I personally think the team that comes out of Group C with France, Italy, Netherlands and Romania will win it.

I hope those cheating Italian DIVERS doesn't cheat their way to winning like they did in '06. I am die-hard France supporter, it also helps that Alizee is too.

(she mentioned in one of those interviews that she thinks that Thierry Henry is the new generation of Footballers for France, which is very true and her favorite player is Zidane). She is a football fan.

So, what are the teams you guys are rooting for? I would like to know especially form our European friends, Euro 2008 is BIG in Europe this summer. I wish I was living in Europe so I could go to the games.

I hope France can re-create the magic of Euro 2000.

Greece! We are not playing the most attractive football but the team is united, determined and with more options than in 2004. However I don't see us repeating the portugal miracle.

I was shocked that you guys actually beat defending champions France and Portugal twice!

No one would have thought that Greece could actually win it. You guys have a good coach Otto Rehagel but like you said I don't think you guys could repeat the miracle of 2004.

Hmm...it's half-time and Switzerland looks to be the better team (got more shots on goal anyway). Why isn't Milan Baros playing instead of being on the bench? He is easily one of the creative players for Czech. This game is looking to be more like a draw...

I hope to god France wins it as well. However I am quite upset England did not make in in the UEFA Euro 2008, which is a huge upset for me!

I guess it's a bit awkard for England not to make Euro 2008. Their games are very entertaining like when they played France and Portugual in Euro 2004 and England fans are probably the loudest ever, there is a different atmosphere with England fans. All I can say to England fans is good luck in 2010.

I don't know, Gridiron Football never made THAT much sense to me.
