Considering only the language itself, I would say nothing. To be honest I have always hated French. Now I like it only because of Alizée.
But speaking about her, in my opinion, when she sings, she is great. Almost always. But when she sings in French, she is legendary. I think she manages to convey her feelings and emotions perfectly while singing in French. When she sings in English, I find her a bit clumsy and cold, as though she is not comfortable. And I suppose her timbre is more suitable to a delicate language like French. And there is also the question of "cultural impact": a French girl/woman is more unusual and exotic for people that are so used to English-speaking songs/movies/TV shows. It is a very peculiar thing about her (for the international market), that creates a spark of interest immediately. Quote:
Anyway yes, I rather go on this date with Alizée who speaks English. But only because this way I could talk to her... About this example, there could be whatever language instead of French, it's obvious that I would even learn Chinese if I had a date with Alizée and that was the only way to speak with her. :P But if I could choose, I would be OK with her French. Because it is "the language of Alizée" to me now. I can't imagine her speaking other languages without her cute French accent.
