Bucket List
Um, I’m new to this thread-starting business but *deep breath* here it goes.
So the other day I watched this movie “The Bucket List” which you have probably at least heard of, if not seen. It was pretty much as trite as the average money-maker Hollywood regularly churns out, but the philosophical basis for the movie really intrigued me and got me to thinking. The film follows two terminally ill septuagenarians who have been told that they have a certain amount of time to live. In an effort to fully take advantage of the time allotted to them, each creates a “bucket list,” or a checklist of things to do before they die. So I guess my question to you all is: what is your personal bucket list? Keep in mind, the things on the list are not life goals or planned accomplishments (like “become a millionaire” or “be successful”), but rather little things that are unique to you, your personality, and your interests. Some examples from the movie are “go skydiving,” “laugh until I cry,” and “kiss the most beautiful girl in the world.” Here’s mine: -Buy my dad a car -Do something crazy without worrying what people think. -Dunk a basketball -Attend an Alizée concert (pretty much a given for everyone on the site ) -Meet my three best friends when we’re seventy. -Make someone else so happy they cry -Visit every country in Europe They can be as deep, frivolous, and specific as you like. Oh, and disregard the financial feasibility of your list (one of the two old dudes in the movie was conveniently a billionaire ). |
