It would be "artistes francaises" (can't enter cedille on Opera Mini) if those artists would be only feminine (only women artists), otherwise, mixed masculine and feminine agree to masculine plural form - "francais".
Tommorow (according to GMT+1 time zone; btw tonight we change time from summer to winter  here) I will read the letter once more and check it. It will be from a non-native point of view
