I remember that song well and really enjoyed it. I was only 10 when it first came out. Back then we didn't have internet and there was little a youngster could do to research a song or an artist. I didn't know who Saint Dominic was and I'm sure until today I didn't know what the lyrics were but this song was just another thing that endeared me to the French language, of course mainly when it was being spoken or in this case sung by a French woman.
I thought she was from France, but this says she was born in Belgium, what it didn't say was Saint Dominic although born in Spain, set up his order in Toulouse, France and it was there that she joined his Order and became a French nun. I also remember a movie back from that era, well actually there's only a little I remember about it. I think it was a comedy about an astronaut and if my memory serves me correctly there was a beautiful woman who I believe was supposed to be from another planet, but she had a beautiful French accent.
