^So, however, it seems pretty strong that Youtube has been at least a pretty big "key" to Alizée's global visibility since its opening...
  Sure, it was probably immediately new and a success compared to that time, even though it was even weaker then than it is today.  One can only think if the YT had already existed in 1995, for example, that is, before Alizée's career ... What would have happened then!  On an even larger scale!
