Illzach: chacha and jive lessons with stars Alizée and Grégoire

This Sunday, April 24, around forty trainees took chacha and jive lessons given by Alizée and Grégoire Lyonnet. This event took place in Illzach, just a few hours after the end of the French Latin dance championship which had also been programmed by Marc Fabrici's dance school... but in Mulhouse. Suffice to say that the teaching provided by the winners of the fourth season of Dance with the stars (2013) made many happy among these dance lovers and some real fans of the singer and choreographer who run a dance studio in Corsica, more precisely in Ajaccio, where they are installed.

Cha-cha-cha and jive spectacle with Alizée and Grégoire in Illzach

The trainees did not hesitate to come from far away, even from very far away, to follow the dance lessons of Grégoire and Alizée. The meeting was set for Sunday April 24, at Marc Fabrici's school in Illzach.

Half an hour before the start of the course scheduled for the day after the French Latin dance championship, three people were waiting for the doors of Marc Fabrici's dance studio in Illzach to open. "It took us a quarter of an hour from Pulversheim," says Audrey. The mother of the family took her 14-year-old daughter, who "was already dancing while she was in her stomach", to the lessons of Grégoire Lyonnet and Alizée. Half an hour after hearing about the course, Amber was already registered. “It was in February”, specifies the young girl, who practices Latin dance at the MJC in Bollwiller.


800 kilometers!

Hilbrand, meanwhile, traveled nearly 800 kilometers and thirteen hours on the road from the Netherlands! Fan of Alizée, the forties (should be: same age as Alizée) who does not speak a word of French, collects everything related to the singer who had been spotted by Mylène Farmer when she participated, in 2000, in the program Graines de star on M6. The Dutchman even has a web page and a blog (should be: Telegram groups) for the one who sang Moi… Lolita. "There is a large community of fans in my country", he confides to the mothers of Ambre and Titouan and to Pierre, from Montreux-Vieux, who proved to be effective in translating the exchanges into English.


Cha-cha-cha like there

Among the forty interns, Pierre and a friend from Sundgau also wanted to meet the couple, winners of the show Danse avec les stars (DALS) in 2013. We're still going to dance,” promises the other.

The young Titouan, 11 years old, has been taking jive lessons at the Ilzachoise school for four years. “Every week, we drive forty-five minutes to get him here,” his parents point out. “I have been waiting for this internship for a year, which had been postponed because of the Covid-19”, smiles the schoolboy, who lives in Linsdorf.

Watch out, it's time to practice! In DALS, "TF1 has popularized the cha-cha-cha but with more modern music," says Grégoire Lyonnet. The choreographer, son of two professional dancers, then promises the group to "make you dance a traditional chacha, the one that originated in the streets of Cuba".

And off we go for an intense hour during which his good humor was contagious. "It was well explained, very nice", confirms Ambre. “He had a very different approach than here. We followed simple steps and other more elaborate ones with a lot of naturalness”, Sandrine and Fred are delighted.

The autograph session is in full swing before the start of the jive class... It's time to slip away. As for Alizée and Grégoire, they then returned to Ajaccio, where they live and run a dance studio.
