Contrasts!
No one should have to feel weird for enjoying something feminine like Alizée's music, as if one, two, or many things are sufficient to define a whole person. Besides, the history of rock and pop is riddled with examples of men and women 'being bold' and ruffling feathers by breaching gender norms: hair length, earrings, clothes, vocal style, etc... So on that count I don't think any music person can rile someone masculine for merely listening to something feminine.
I personally appreciate that I can enjoy Alizée and Metallica and the soundtrack to Dances With Wolves, and so on... These contrasts make the music all the more powerful. Hylas Last edited by Hylas1896; 08-05-2007 at 03:20 AM.. Reason: minor grammar, repetition, title spelling error |
