OK time to senshi to fill you guys in,
Lets see sweden.....sweden has a beautiful capital city called Stockholm, with water surrounding the city. IKEA is swedish, Saab and Volvo are all original swedish but the companies are now owned by GM and Ford :P Volvo is the latin word meaning "to roll". (if i remember correctly) so what more to know....lets not forget our fellow swedish hockey players like Peter Forsberg, Mats Sundin etc when it comes to music we have The Hives, Abba, Europe and quite few others. funniest ive ever heard though was this guy telling me "ive heard polar bears run in the streets of stockholm." want to know more just ask |

My father’s side of the family came from Linköping. His grandfather, who was 14 at the time, came alone to the USA with just the clothes on his back and the family bible. He didn’t know any English. Pinned to his shirt was the address in Minneapolis that he was supposed to go to, where he had 2 relatives. He got lost in Chicago and lost the family bible there, but some strangers put him on the right train and he arrived safely.
Anyways, that’s my link to Sweden. |

There are some interesting pockets of Swedish culture in the US. For instance, Lindsborg, Kansas, a little town of about 3000. They have a Swedish Country Inn with a sauna and a smorgasbord breakfast, and these fun double bikes. I heard that they at some point taught Swedish in the schools, but I don't know if it's still the case.
