sorry for your loss but you should start backing up everything , not just alizee vids.

For backing up my files I use a USB hard disk. Once a month I back up my entire "documents and settings" folder using the Windows Backup utility. I then take the hard drive to my office so if something catastrophic happened at home (fire, flood, etc.) I would still have all my years worth of work.

Time Machine is one of the great things that Macs now have, automatic incremental backup, so not only is everything backed up, but it is backed up as it was each day for the past month, and then each week after that. If you delete a file, replace the wrong file, or make changes to a file that you're rather undo, you can recover old versions.
Of course, if the contents of your hard drive change rapidly, then you'll need a big hard drive, and incremental backup is annoying if you use a portable. Still, good stuff. Now Apple just needs to work on getting their hardware quality up, and their prices down.
