I own a violin, and am planning to take lessons soon. What really scares me is that the girl is a great violinist, and yet she still doesn't sound good. Perhaps it's just distortion.

It takes intense skill and technique to get a violin to sound beautiful, probably more so than any other instrument. You won't sound fantastic starting out, don't let that deter you. If you put the time and effort into it, it will be worth it after a while.

As for the video... good, but I won't be impressed until I hear J'en Ai Marre on mandolin.

I love JEAM so much. I've even written some guitar parts that go with the tune, but aren't exactly rhythmic chords (more like riffy solo stuff )

Don't consider me a weirdo but at one point I loved the song too much, I actually started dancing along to the video and I didn't even realize it.
