Webcam through aim

hey guys I just got a brand spanken new laptop and it has a webcam, windows vista, and the whole 9 yards. I know how to work the webcam but I cant seem to get it to work through aim. Whenever my buddies accept my video session, they don't see me. They see a black screen but they can hear me. Can someone help me set this up, thank you very much;
