Default Obama's acceptance speech

What did you guys think of his speech?

As an independent I just gotta say it was powerful. It was a tactfully sound speech but I'm more impressed with how he came across.

It was nothing compared to what Stéphane Dion's acceptance speech might be. I still don't really know if I'd ever want to see that day.

I'd tell you what I think of his speech, but I'd probably be banned

The speech was a masterpiece! Obama is truly a brilliant guy. No wonder this guy went to Harvard. He is a million times smarter than Bush and McCain.

You are lucky, you are in Denver. You could have gone to see him. I know I would have.

How many times the Liberal Party changes leadership? Chretien, Paul Martin then this guy. I personally think the premier of Quebec would make the best leader for the Liberal Party.

Obama is a very talented orator with charisma rivaling that of Bill Clinton. He tactfully presented the age old party talking points. Socialism vs Capitalism and the free market system. He has excellent speech writers. The debates will tell the tale when there are no telepromptors or speech writing team. I am an independent also and try not get caught up in flowery speeches from any of the candidates. I try to stick to their character and substance of their philosophies. I have been fooled more than once. I think this will be the most interesting race in my lifetime. As politicians they both will offer pie in the sky promises that can't possibly be delivered.

I would have had to cancel my physical therapy session if I wanted to go and stand in the line that was miles long (no joke) to get in the stadium. But I have a nice tv to watch it on so it wasn't too bad.

I don't mind the badmouthing they always do on each other, but what really pisses me off is how crowds usually react and then start throwing obscenities. To be honest, I really don't want to be in a stadium full of democrats with 8 years of pent up anger and Bush hatred. Just like I don't want to be near the Republicans 8 years from now when Obama is finishing up his 2nd term.

It was a great speech. And I think he mostly wrote it himself.

Yes, supposedly it was his, though cut nearly in half for time by advisers.

But unfortunately I don't see how we can really discuss this without it turning into the type of political thread we don't allow.
