I really didn't like Jamais Plus, Lonely List, Décollage, L'effet or Idealiser to start with, but now I can enjoy them like any other song from Alizée :P
And Lilly Town was kinda ok, but now it's one of my favourite songs ^^

My favorite Alizée album is MCE, but I suppose for many people it partly depends on when they first discovered her. And I’m sure for some it’s a matter of taste. MCE defined Alizée for me initially. I'm sure Gourmandises and Moi, Lolita defined Alizée for most fans, but that era never registered for me that well. I like the songs on Gourmandises a lot, but the Lolita image never stuck to me, so to speak. Actually, I'm glad it didn't. I think it made Psych much easier for me to accept.

But having said all that, I think Psych is a very good album and I am disappointed that it didn’t sell better as well. I do listen to it a lot, and I can't wait to hear what her next album will sound like.

Essentially, I feel the same way. In addition to discovering Alizée post-MCE/pre-Pychédélices, making the MCE material more defining and special, is the fact that the MCE era had many of the best non-performance material: Stars à Domicile avec Jessica, and most of the really good interviews (I still maintain that it was Ternuc's JPVA compilation that piqued my interested, but 1H avec Alizée that made me a fan). Still, Psychédélices isn't too far behind because it was with I heard Alizée *live* for the very first time as her debut of MJ was mirrored on internet radio, and of course that I met Alizée (and later danced a little for her, if you can call what I did "dancing") to the sounds of Psychédélices. And Gourmandises, I have to admit, seems to hang together as an album musically better that the other two if you listen to it straight through rather than to individual songs.

AH GAUD! first it was september.. then october, and now november?! frick! i'll probably just end up getting on christmas. which isn't bad.. but still a bit of a wait.
