I think you can take Hollywood into this advantage as well.

Probably the stereotype that all Americans are worried about when going to a foreign place is getting drunk off their asses and getting laid. Unfortunetly, most people i know personally are indeed like this.

i have learned that most people in other countries precieve americans by what they see on tv shows especially sit-coms. many think that americans lie in bed with thier shoes on and have friends who come over and help themselves to the refrigerator without asking or being invited.

Yes, Poland lies in Central Europe, east of Germany and near Russia.

And with this go our stereotype that average American's overall knowledge of world is rather poor. We have laugh, when on CNN - rather very big televison, they place Switzerland in Czech Republic and vice versa

Yes, It's fact. "Overweight is problem in America, you eat in fast-foods much of fattening food" - we think in that way.

People get drunk all over the world, not only Americans, what's more we don't have that kind of stereotype in Poland, cause we (as Poles) get grunk also very often

I don't watch sit-coms, so I can't confirm that, personally I don't think so. But televison has great influence of our percieving of Americans, especially American films.

My dad and uncle will occasionally use "dumb Polack" to describe one another (as they have either Polish/Russian ancestry), but only jokingly.

I don't think the younger generation has any racial stereotypes for Poles.

We have a very large Polish community in Northern Ireland and (apart from fighting with each other at football matches) they are some of the hardest working, nicest people i have ever met. In fact i had Polish neighbours for quite a while and they were fine, no problems at all with them.
And i've yet to meet an unattractive Polish girl.
You will always get the odd idiot that will object to any 'foreigner' but i like to take everyone as i find them.
Yep, they are ok the Poles.
