Not to mention it's also gonna be a waste with a small/medium size 3D tv. I'd say it would have to be over 65" to get the full effect. |

Having been stuck inside a house or within 100 feet of my house (as far as I'm willing to walk in the snow) , I watched some movies. I watched Saw 6, and I liked it, I like all of them, but it was difficult for me to understand what went on because I never got to watch Saw 5. I missed all the intense trap scenes.
Also, I watched Surrogates, a movie I had actually never heard about, and it was about humans using robot surrogates to live their lives because their human selves were "vulnerable" and "unattractive." Kinda like Avatar, IRobot and Terminator combined. I liked it, and it came with a similar "don't rely on tech" message. Finally, I watched Watchmen, which was way overdue. I liked this one the best, because it made you think. In the end, one of the good guys is really a bad guy. Though he did a horrible thing, he's still right because what he did was the lesser of two evils in a way. I liked the thought of super hero leagues fighting for good, and retiring once a new one could be formed. Kinda like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen whose original comic book version I borrowed from the library recently. |

So perhaps it's time the cool people get to talking about a wave of a pretty awesome Japanese action film by the name of "Crows Zero"
It's only been talked about 200 times in AAm's chat and almost every other chat frequented by me, Plaz, and djwise. I definitely give these movies a 10/10 for the first, and a 9.5/10 for the second. Special effects are not precedent at all, what brings the story is dialogue and of course, action. Not the kind of martial arts you'd expect (well, most of you all anyway), it's straight brutal action, when you see a punch, they mean the punch. It's got no finesse, no calibration, it's a Punch made to make the person shit bricks, and you feel each one. Each hook, each slam, each whack. No tricks, no effects. Love it.
