stupid national honor society induction ceremony crap

making me dress up all fancy-like (I actually love formal attire. Half-windsor ftw)

To gain a partial glimpse of the horror of the whole thing, it was like having a bunch of high schoolers slowly read you every word of the terms and conditions before you could click accept.

I can't decide which was my favorite part; the dirty fat mom with the dirty pony tail and the dirty old pink track pants with the two week old baby*, clenching the yellow rose and finding out the hard way that there were still thorns on it, or the guy in front who thought because he had a d3 and a sb900 that he could get good pictures... FOR CHRIST'S SAKE NOT ONLY WAS HE USING A FLASH WHEN THERE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH AMBIENT LIGHT, BUT HE HAD THE BALLS TO PUT A DIFFUSER ON IT!!!!!!!!

*I wanted to fucking throttle that lady. She leaves her giant stroller right in front of the stage (literally, touching it even) and when the baby starts crying (that 1 week old newborn cry) she ignores it for about 15 seconds, and then thinks she can calm it down by giving it a bottle, and after a minute of the entire theater glaring at her she gets the hint to walk out. This was all during some girl's speech, and she kept talking through the whole thing, I felt so bad for her.

realizing twenty minutes after posting a similar post on facebook, that you're actually friends with the national honor society.

I think I'm safe, they're probably all still there getting tanked on King Soopers cake and dixie's full of Hawaiian Punch (served with a ladle, for authenticity)

Aw man, I remember when I was in National Honors Society last year. It crawled by painfully slow but the chocolate cupcakes almost made up for it. Plus I got to wear a really pretty dress.

I went fairly casual. Some nice shorts and a nice flannel button up collared shirt. It was hot and I didn't feel like suiting up for business. Don't let the man get you down!!!

I just love wearing a suit n' tie. Dunno why. Maybe it has something to do with my affinity for order and complimentary sets of things. If people were cool with it, I'd wear a suit to school every day.

But other than that, I was angry that I had to be formal. I was considering sticking it to the man and going in my normal khaki's and a graphic t-shirt, but the lady in charge of the national honor society at my school was a teacher of mine last year, and she really likes me and respects me and I didn't want to disrespect her.
