The place of my dreams is my native city - Ajaccio, Corsica. The city in itself is very beautiful, its market, its little port, the old city... When you keep going a little on the Boulevard Lantivy, you reach the "Bloody Islands." You can witness a very beautiful sunset from around five to six in the evening and there is a very particular color... a rather special orange-ish color that you find nowhere else. Behind the "Bloody Islands" there's a beach that I've gone to since I was born: the Capo di fene ("Capo di feno") beach. It's a place that needs to be preserved... a very, very beautiful beach. There aren't many people who go to it. You have to be Corsican to be aware of this place. In the winter you can go for a walk and breathe the fresh air ("grand air"). In the summer there's a sea made of oil with quite perfect weather; it's never too hot. We can peacefully savor our days on the edge of the sea.
No more gaps!

Edit:

BTW, the French expression "mer d'huile" ou "mer fait d’huile" (sea made of oil) usually refers to the fact that the water is relatively calm.

Since Alizee mentions it in the video, I guess it's okay to show the exact location of Blood island.

This picture was from a picture on Google earth that was labeled Blood island.

Well if anyones wondering why they're called the Blood islands.. it's because of the sunsets they have. They're very red in colour.. the colour of blood.

That was beautiful and soothing. I think my blood pressure just dropped watching that video.
Thank you everyone. The translation was very helpful in making the video meaningful for us.

Not to imply that you are wrong, there, Un-rêve. But...

In French these islands are called “Îles sanguinaires” or “archipel des Sanguinaires”. “Sanguinaires” is basically the equivalent of sanguinary in English. So, the name does seem to be related to the color of blood, but more officially, it is generally thought that it originates from:

- A deformation of the name found on early modern era maps: “Sagonare Insulae”. This would make the most sense, since the archipelago still sits between the Sagone and Ajaccio canyons.

- The color of the porphyry rocks when they are hit by the sunset light.

- The color of some indigenous plant (Frankénie) which leaves turn bright red in autumn.

I found this info while I was completing the translation from Toc De Mac.
