Ipod question
So my ancient ipod/itunes freaked out on me and I lost all my play counts.. I was at around 6000 plays for JPVA/I'm Not Twenty!
Does anyone know how to restore play count? I didn't hit anything or try to update, I just plugged it into my laptop to start charging it and I noticed the play count was all reset. Any help would be great!

I remember reading something once that basically said recovering your play count is a bitch and it involves xml files or something

First off.. what the heck is an xml file, and secondly, would that enable me to recover my play count?

I buy a new iPod every two years to prevent falling victim to obsolescence... I could only dream of reaching something even close to 6000 counts on my ipod before I get a new one.

Are iPods worth it? I've tossed around the idea of buying one, but cannot justify spending $250 on an mp3 player. Are they really superior to other players, or am I just buying a name?
