Silly people living in low-lying areas! I'm in Upstate, and we've so far gotten some strong winds, and some heavy rain and that's it.

Cannot imagine living on the water - I would have to keep a canoe in my garage....

For some reason I have dodged hurricanes all my life and have never experienced one until Irene. I grew up in Florida and while family stayed there and I moved on to other locales, I came back every now and then to visit them and still, I was imune to hurricanes so to speak. It was probably a coincidence though, time of year related. Those winds were pretty strong even up here in &%#%^&#$$%#@!.
