In regards to tonight's basketball game.

"I've been using a found traffic cone as a sort of megaphone/horn to amplify my voice (which has a great booming effect in gyms). I've used it at every game we've played so far, and no one has complained. Keep in mind that I'm shouting completely clean and legitimate things, it's not like I'm cussing out the other team with it.

However tonight, some random guy from the other school (he had an ID card but I didn't see his position) who was telling me that I can't use it because "regulations don't allow an artificial noise maker."

Is a cone an "artificial noise maker?" I understand something like an actual horn or a vuvuzela or anything like that, but with the cone there is zero artificial noise, it's all me but only amplified.

Is that still against the rules?

I told him to shove it because he refused to show me proof of it, but I'd like to know the proper answer for the next game."
